Freedom and the mothers of Plaza de Mayo (dwaze moeders)

Every tuesday afternoon, since 30 years, the mothers of the Plaza de Mayo demonstrate on this plaza to ask for their grandchildren back. When it was still a dictatorship a lot of people dissapeared. So did a lot of woman. And sometimes these woman were pregnant and the children that were born in captivity were taken from them and given to rich families that support the system in those days. Most of the people that were prisoned in those days never returned. It has been an ongoing battle for the grandmothers to seek there grandchildren....
One man came up to me on the plaza and started to talk about this period in time. He came to this plaza already for 30 years. He was looking for 3 grandchildren that should be in the age of 29. I did not dare to ask him if he lost his own children as well. But it was sad, even the sky was not blue, and the site of the grandmothers is very touchy. It is hard to imagine, when you are born in Europe in the last 50 years, how it most be to live in fear and without freedom..
